Puppy Classes
Puppy Classes
Let's make sure that your puppy gets off to a great start. The first weeks that you have your puppy are the most important weeks in their learning. Getting your puppy headed in the right direction early, will help prevent challenges down the road.
Puppy Essentials Classes are a great place for puppies ages 3-6 months old to learn and socialize. Cost is $190.
Please note that these classes are for friendly puppies. If your puppy is aggressive towards people or other puppies, this class is not for you; however, we do offer private consultations.
Our next Puppy Essentials 1 class starts on April 1st, 2024
and runs for 5 weeks.
Classes are Monday evenings, Puppy Essentials starting at 6:15. We will be at the Royal Canadian Legion on Shawnigan Lake / Mill Bay Rd. in Shawnigan Lake.
You and your puppy will have homework between classes. Every week we will be asking your puppy if you did your homework.

Obedience
We provide obedience training for you and your dog. Our philosophy behind working with you as a team, is that you learn how to and what is needed to ensure your dog maintains their skills. When you have the knowledge and tools to help your dog, your dog will gladly follow you.
Loose Lead Walking
Ever wonder who is walking who? Dogs pulling on their lead is one of the most common challenges faced by dog owners. We will help you and your dog learn this important skill. Once mastered, your walks will be something that you look forward to.
We will be offering a Specialty Class focused on Loose Lead Walking to help owners take back control of their walks. Classes will be Monday evenings for 4 weeks. Cost is $ 150. Start date is April 1st 2024, 7:15pm at the Royal Canadian Legion.

Imprinting is the foundation of scent work whether you are a professional Dog Handler searching for bombs, weapons, drugs..., a volunteer who searches for people or just want to train in scent work for fun. In this class you will learn how to handle scent, train your dog to alert and imprint your dog on specific scents.

We provide training for Service Dogs. Whether you are wanting to train your own dog to become a Service Dog or you need someone to provide a Service Dog to you, we are here for you.
We follow the National Standards for Service Dog training and work in partnership with the Canadian Service Dog Trainers Association and MSAR to provide the best possible dog for you.
Our main focus is dogs for PTSD and related medical issues.

If you have trained your own Service Dog and are wanting to take the BC Service Dog Test, we can help prepare you for it. We will provide an assessment, real world training and a trial test to ensure that you and your dog are ready.
It is best to check with us about scheduling before you book your BC Test to ensure that we make sure that your trial test is planned close to your
Group and Private Lessons
Group and Private Lessons
We offer both Group and Private Training.
Our group sessions will contain dogs that are working on similar challenges and skills. These sessions are limited in numbers depending on the specific group, but will not exceed 8 dogs in any class. Puppy classes are limited to 6 puppies per class.
Private lessons are available for those that wish to address specific issues, or those that cannot attend our group training sessions. Private lessons also allow you to have more than 1 handler or multiple dogs working together.

Now Available!
We now offer clients the option of leaving their dogs with us to train. Your dog will live in our home and work with us several times each day. At the end of your dog's stay, they will have learned and enhanced their obedience skills.
Skills we will cover include; loose leash walking, sit, down, stay, recall (come), threshold control, feeding time manners and improved self confidence. Following this training, you will receive one on one training to help you maintain your dogs new skills.
